new year
It’s still 2011. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not about to greet you a happy new year if that’s what you’re thinking. I’m just checking in on my yearly goals. I don’t call them resolutions because more often those resolutions are made to fail. So what is it about making yearly goals versus non-goals? Well for one, you have something to base your actions on. Why waste time doing certain things when they’re not even included in your goals? They naturally help us move forward. We check off goals we’ve accomplished and move on to the next one. Time moves forward, by the way. And if we sit still, we’ll be left behind.
Just this morning I found a plastic bag that contained 3 books I bought last week and I started thinking about the things I failed to accomplish. One of them is to keep on learning by reading one book a month. It’s almost June and I haven’t read any book. It’s quite sad really.
So I vow to finish this book from that plastic bag. I’ll try to read 10 pages or more a day. What about you? Are you nearer to accomplishing your goals?
